The "Borla or Bodla" is a stunning piece of jewellery worn on the head along the hair parting, by women of traditional Rajasthan households as well as Rajasthani brides. It is often made with gold and silver and encrusted with pearls, glass and enamel work.

A completely handcrafted Sterling Silver (.925) Borla pendant encrusted with glass in stunning red, green and blue colours and tiny silver bells has been used as a pendant. It is accentuated with a beautiful saucer-shaped paper** bead and along with a sterling silver cone bead is hung from a twisted satin cord. Traditional, sophisticated and vibrant neckpiece for those special occasions!

Materials: Sterling Silver (.925), Handmade Paper Bead, Green Twisted Satin Cord.

Clasp: Magnetic* but the necklace can be easily worn over the head as is.

Length: approx. 29 inches

*Please Note: Gently twist and pull the ends of the clasp to open and snap together to close. Please handle with care while opening and closing.

** The paper bead was handmade by a local Irish artist from recycled papers. The bead is very lightweight and tactile. This bead has been varnished individually in layers, not dipped. This gives an even shape and a high quality finish, and also makes it practically waterproof - as durable as wooden beads. As with all jewelry supplies, keeping them dry and clean is recommended.
