{RESERVED FOR BPR} Necklace + Earrings (custom-made as discussed)

Destination: Gobichettipalayam, Tamil Nadu

Focal Point: A beautifully crafted screw clasp in old silver (70% purity) from the Gobichettipalayam region of Tamil Nadu. It is a working clasp with a long screw to hold the top and bottom portions.

Name Inspiration: The necklace is named after “Madurai Shanmukhavadivu Subbulakshmi” or more popularly “MS Subbulakshmi” who was a celebrated Indian Carnatic singer from Madurai, Tamil Nadu. She is acknowledged as the leading proponent of classical and semi-classical songs of the Carnatic Music tradition of South India. She is the first ever recipient of the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award, the Ramon Magsasay Award and the first Indian to perform at the UN General Assembly.

Item Description: Featuring a beautiful old silver clasp from the Gobichettipalayam region of Tamil Nadu, this three strand necklace is made using fine stick chips of red branch corals and accentuated with faceted black onyx stones and Thai Karen Hill tribe Silver silver spacers. The necklace can be worn over the head as is or using the clasp.

Important Note: Since the clasp is a vintage item, it’s design makes it intentionally slightly wobbly (not defective or broken). The clasp can be sealed upon request if desired.
