Focal Point: A shield style pendant in old silver, known to be worn as a celebratory accessory by the Toda tribals of the Nilgiris. It has a beautiful ruby stone set in the center.

Name Inspiration: The necklace has been named after the legendary “Kannagi” who is the central character of the the Tamil epic “Silapathikaram” by Ilango Adigal. She was a fearless woman who burnt the whole city of Madurai to avenge the wrongful death of her husband Kovalan by the Pandya king Nedunj Cheliyan I.

Item Decription: Featuring the shield style pendant in old silver (70% purity), this necklace was made using pumpkin shaped Howlite stones, Pink Jade and Sterling Silver (92.5% purity) elements.

Length: 30.5 inches approx. (when measured around the neck from nape to tip of the necklace).
